All About Our Bath Fizzies (aka Bath Bombs)

All About Our Bath Fizzies (aka Bath Bombs)

In my first post, I mentioned the Bath Fizzy Variety Pack we recently introduced. Here's a bit more detail:

All of our fizzies are made from the same basic recipe:

  • Baking soda
  • Citric Acid
  • Corn Starch
  • Organic Mango Butter
  • Organic Sunflower Seed Oil
  • Aloe Extract in Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • Raw Honey from our apiary
  • Essential Oils

The Honey & Oatmeal version also includes colloidal oatmeal.

We've even made a video showing the steps in making them. Take a gander.

After a few years of making fizzies, we've found this to be the formula that makes the water silky, moisturizes your skin with lovely oils, butters, and raw honey, and smells great.

Other than the colloidal oatmeal, the difference is solely in scent. So choose your favorite from among them: Lavender, Italian Sunshine (bergamot & herb), Vashti (geranium, frankincense, lavender, & citrus), or Honey Oatmeal (lemongrass & lavender), or get the Variety Pack and try all four!

You'll notice that there are no added colors in our fizzies. I admit that the colorful ones are fun. Who doesn't love watching a rainbow of colors (with or without added sparkle) twirl around in the tub?

And yet... It is no fun to clean the tub afterwards. I mean... relaxing, moisturizing tub. Candles, wine, luxury. (Or skip the candles and add hot chocolate.)

Tub cleaner, sponge, scrub, rinse. OMG, now I'm sweaty and need a shower.

Uh, that's a big no thanks.

(Now, can I admit that I sometimes make some multicolored fizzies for my 10 year old? Just for fun? With full knowledge that I will be cleaning the tub?)

The color-and-sparkle ones are once-in-awhile fun. Like a $30 bottle of wine. Nice and all, but not every day.

But that's kinda the point. Our fizzies are more like my daily giant mug of ginger tea: understated but yummy, good for me, and an easy way to enhance my life.
